The Minneapolis school board will select a preferred candidate to become the next superintendent of the school district Monday.

The nine-member board will make its decision after weeks of interviews, panels and community meetings with the three finalists: Michael Goar, the current interim, Charles Foust, and Sergio Paez.

The board will debate and decide to extend an offer to one candidate during a public meeting at the district's headquarters at 1250 W. Broadway Avenue, beginning at 5:15 p.m.
