The Minneapolis school board will soon receive a list of finalists for the district's top job.
Next week the district's selection committee, made up of board and community members, will interview semifinalists and recommend one to three finalists to the full board.
At that point, the names of finalists will become public.
"The committee has been reviewing a list of well-qualified candidates. We look forward to presenting a list of finalists to the full Board," said Nelson Inz, a board member and the chair of the selection committee.
The board plans to host a community reception with the finalists on May 16. The board intends to name and approve the new superintendent by May 27.
