Minneapolis police have found a 6-week-old boy missing for more than a week who was believed to be in danger.

The baby, Sir Charles Cortez Davis, was handed over by a man about 7 p.m. at the Police Athletic League office and "appeared to be unharmed and in good shape," a police statement said.

Police had asked for help in finding the child, who was believed to be with his biological mother, Latrice Ebony Pittman, 26, who lost custody because of drug use and prior involuntary terminations of parental rights. Police were concerned that medical issues may have kept Pittman from properly caring for the baby.

Police are still looking for Pittman, who was not with the man when he brought to the child to police. Previously, Pittman had refused to disclose her location or the child's location.

Pittman is 5-foot-3, weighs 177 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair past her shoulders. Pittman also has a visible tattoo on the left side of her neck that says "Lariyah Pigg" and a tattoo on her left lower arm, "Mike." She also has a piercing on the side of her left eye.
