Minneapolis' ninth homicide reported

April 5, 2008 at 4:38AM

A man was shot dead outside his south Minneapolis home Thursday night.

Several neighbors in the 4100 block of Park Avenue S. in the Bryant neighborhood called police about gunshots about 11:30 p.m. Officers didn't find anything suspicious, but a man's body was discovered about 10:30 a.m. Friday.

The shooting doesn't appear to be random, but police haven't determined a motive. The man, who hasn't been identified by authorities, was in his 20s.

No weapons were recovered at the scene, said Lt. Amelia Huffman, head of the homicide unit. Nobody has been arrested.

This is the city's 9th homicide, compared to 15 at this time last year. Anybody with information on Thursday's homicide can call 612-692-TIPS (8477).
