A 30-year-old Minneapolis man died Sunday after being shot in the head a few days before, according to police.

About 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 20, police were called to the area of Lake Street and Pillsbury Avenue S. on a report of shots being fired. It was indicated that a vehicle had left the scene right after the gunfire, according to Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Bill Palmer.

Within a few minutes, two gunshot victims arrived in a car at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. One of the victims was a 31-year-old Minneapolis man who had a wound to the hand. The other man had a gunshot wound to his head and later died.

The dead man's identity will be released by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

Nobody is in custody in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call 612-692-8477.
