Say goodbye to Minneapolis winter parking restrictions and hello spring.
Maybe. Despite forecasts for snow this week, the city lifted one-side parking restrictions on Monday because mild temperatures and sunny days melted enough snow to allow freer passage along city streets. The restrictions went into effect Dec. 17 after snow-clogged streets became difficult to navigate for fire trucks, ambulances and other emergency vehicles.
Normal parking rules went into effect Monday. Signs added to some narrower snow emergency routes that limited parking to one side of the street will soon be removed. Drivers should follow those posted signs as long as they are in place.
