A man killed in a south Minneapolis shooting early Monday has been identified and police have made an arrest in the case.

The victim was identified as Daniel D. Maniece, 35, of Jordan.

Police were called to a home on the 3500 block of Chicago Avenue S. about 12:15 a.m. on Monday, where they found Maniece, who had been shot.

He died at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis from a gunshot wound to the chest in what the medical examiner ruled Tuesday was a homicide.

On Tuesday afternoon, police announced they had made an arrest Monday night. In a news release, police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said the shooting "was an isolated incident, no other suspects are being sought and the public is not at risk."
