A Minneapolis City Council candidate who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving Sunday has been charged in Ramsey County District Court.

Tiffini Flynn Forslund faces four misdemeanor charges and one petty misdemeanor charge, accused of driving while intoxicated, not carrying proof of insurance and driving 49 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone, court documents show.

Police stopped Flynn Forslund early Sunday morning at Dale Street and Fuller Avenue for driving over the speed limit, according to a St. Paul police report. She "appeared impaired and failed field sobriety tests," the report said.

A breath test showed Flynn Forslund's blood alcohol content was 0.09, according to the report. The legal limit in Minnesota is 0.08.

Flynn Forslund is challenging Council Member Abdi Warsame and Mohamud Noor in Minneapolis' Sixth Ward.

She did not respond to a request for comment.
