A passenger on a Metro Transit bus was shot early Saturday morning after getting in a verbal altercation with two other riders, officials said.
Three passengers began arguing on Route 21 before exiting the vehicle near the intersection of Lake Street and Park Avenue in the Midtown area of Minneapolis, where a fight ensued. Around 5:30 a.m., one of the passengers was shot in the leg and taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The investigation is ongoing, but authorities believe the passengers knew one another. No one is in custody.
