Midwest Expecting Cooler Weather

June 26, 2009 at 8:25PM

The Midwest is looking forward to a spell of summer comfort. In Chicago, thetemperature peaked at 94 degrees Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Let me assureyou there is no chance that Chicago will reach 90 again for the next severaldays. Lower 80s are in the cards for Chicago this weekend, and temperaturesMonday could simply stay in the 70s.Chicago will not be the only place to partake is this cooler pattern. Thenorthern Plains, Midwest and Great Lakes will all experience the cooler weatherthis weekend, and the Northeast will be affected next Tuesday andWednesday.

The turn to cooler weather will be preceded by a band of showers andthunderstorms. Later Saturday night, the heaviest thunderstorms will occur fromeastern Kansas to Wisconsin.
