Midsommar Celebration

The American Swedish Institute's most popular event showcases music and dancing. Dating back to ancient European times, the day celebrates summer and the growing season. Make a fresh-flower head wreath and raise the Midsommar pole to dance around while singing traditional Swedish songs. Featured performers include jazz flugelhornist Oskar Stenmark, Open Eye Figure Theatre and others. Shop at the museum store and find tasty treats at Fika, the museum's restaurant. (10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat. $5-$10. American Swedish Institute, 2600 Park Av. S., Mpls. asimn.org.)
