Mid-April Plains Snow

A strengthening low pressure system moving into the Upper Midwest laterThursday night into Friday will spell a spring snow event for some residents ofthe northern Plains.High pressure drifting across Ontario will drive chilly air into the Dakotas,Minnesota and northern Nebraska late Thursday into Thursday night.

Precipitation running into the chilly air mass will produce a swatch of heavywet snow over far northern Nebraska, South Dakota and southern North Dakota. Aslushy few to as many as several inches of snow may accumulate, mainly ongrassy surfaces.

Farther south into central Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois, a steady, chilly rainwill fall.
