Former Wolves forward and enigma Michael Beasley has been named Most Valuable Player in the Chinese Basketball Association and, according to several reports, is eyeing a return to playing in the NBA.

It should be noted that the CBA has two MVPs -- one for a foreign player and one for a player from China, which was won by former NBA player Yi Jianlian.

On the Pro Basketball Talk blog at NBCsports.com, writer Kurt Helin put Beasley's accomplishment into perspective: "There is almost no good defense played in the Chinese Basketball Association — which makes it pretty much ideal for someone like Michael Beasley."

Beasley averaged 32 points and 13 rebounds per game for the Shandong Golden Stars, who were knocked out in the first round of the league's postseason.

Marc Stein of ESPN is among those reporting that Beasley is looking at an NBA return.

Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft, played for the Wolves for two seasons -- averaging 19 points per game in 2010-11 and 11.5 points per game in 2011-12 before before being released.

Here's what it looked like when Beasley had 63 points, 19 rebounds and 13 assists in the CBA All-Star Game, in which he was named MVP.
