'Mermaid Hour: ReMixed'

A mysterious character materializes to assist a trans girl, who is just coming out, and her parents, who disagree about their daughter's care. Originally a play by David Valdes Greenwood, "Mermaid Hour" has been transformed into a musical, with lyrics by Greenwood and music by Twin Cities polymath Eric Mayson, a graduate of the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists who is making good on his own pledge to "always say yes." For more on "Mermaid Hour" and a whole month of trans-themed theater, see Sunday's Variety section. (7:30 p.m. Wed.-Sat., 2 p.m. Sun., Mixed Blood Theatre, 1501 S. 4th St., Mpls., $25 (free tickets two hours before showtime on a first-come, first-served basis), 612-338-6131 or mixedblood.com).
