Yellow Jackets stun Demon Deacons; KSU tops Texas as scorer ties Big 12 mark • GEORGIA TECH 76, NO. 6 WAKE FOREST 74: Iman Shumpert hit a pull-up jumper with one second remaining to lift the Yellow Jackets (10-10, 1-6 ACC) to their first conference victory on Saturday in Atlanta. Wake Forest committed two turnovers in the final 35 seconds and lost to the ACC's last-place team only three days after beating top-ranked Duke. Georgia Tech senior Alade Aminu had 10 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks, and younger brother Al-Farouq Aminu led the Demon Deacons (17-2, 4-2) with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Gani Lawal had 25 points to lead Georgia Tech.

• KANSAS STATE 85, NO. 11 TEXAS 81 (OT): Denis Clemente tied a Big 12 record with 44 points, and the visiting Wildcats (14-7, 3-4 Big 12) ended the Longhorns' 19-game home winning streak. Clemente tied the conference mark set last season by former Wildcat Michael Beasley. He went 6-for-6 on three-pointers, and his last two free throws with 6.9 seconds left in overtime put the game away. Fred Brown had given Kansas State the lead with a three-pointer with 18.6 seconds left. Damion James scored 19 points to lead the Longhorns (15-5, 4-2).

• NO. 23 WASHINGTON 84, NO. 14 ARIZONA STATE 71: Justin Dentmon scored a career-high 30 points and freshman Isaiah Thomas added 25 as the visiting Huskies (16-5, 7-2 Pac-10) handed the Sun Devils their second consecutive home defeat. Jeff Pendergraph had 21 points and a season-high 14 rebounds for Arizona State (16-5, 5-4), his sixth double-double of the season.

• PORTLAND 84, NO. 22 ST. MARY'S: Nik Raivio scored 27 points and Portland extended its best start in West Coast Conference history by beating the Pilots. St. Mary's was playing without leading scorer Patrick Mills, who broke two bones in his hand during a loss Thursday night at Gonzaga.

• NO. 2 CONNECTICUT 94, PROVIDENCE 61: Hasheem Thabeet had 15 points, 11 rebounds and tied his own school record with 10 blocked shots, recording his first triple-double and leading the Huskies (20-1, 9-1 Big East) over the visiting Fryars (14-7, 6-3). A.J. Price led UConn with 19 points. Randall Hanke had 16 points to lead Providence.

• NO. 5 NORTH CAROLINA 93, NORTH CAROLINA STATE 76: Tyler Hansbrough scored 31 points as the Tar Heels (19-2, 5-2 ACC) beat the Wolfpack (11-8, 2-5) in Raleigh, N.C. Ty Lawson added 16 points for the Tar Heels.

• NO. 8 MARQUETTE 94, NO. 25 GEORGETOWN 82: Wesley Matthews scored 19 of his 23 points in the second half, helping the Golden Eagles (19-2, 8-0 Big East) defeat the visiting Hoyas (12-8, 3-6). Jerel McNeal scored 26 points and Lazar Hayward added 23 for Marquette, which has won 11 consecutive games and remains in a first-place tie with Louisville atop the conference.

MIAC HIGHLIGHTS

• AUGSBURG 65, ST. OLAF 61: Nate Alm scored 18 points and led the visiting Auggies past the Oles. Mitch Haugen had 14 to lead St. Olaf.

NSIC HIGHLIGHTS

• MINNESOTA DULUTH 73, MSU MANKATO 65: John Vaudreuil had 28 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs past the visiting Mavericks.

• ST. CLOUD STATE 96, AUGUSTANA 90: Sophomore guard Taylor Witt scored a career-high 30 points, leading the visiting Huskies past the Vikings.
