If you swore off soda pop when the price went to $4 or $5 for a 12-pack, Pepsi wants you back. The soda pop maker isn't taking its loss of market share to Coke lying down. This week several retailers have Pepsi products on sale for a price that was low even before food prices soared. Target has 12-packs for $2.29 each, and Lunds/Byerly's has them for 4 for $9 or $2.25 each (must buy 4, no minimum purchase). Cub has a manufacturer's coupon for 4 12-packs for $8.88 or $2.22 each (must buy 4--no minimum purchase). Rainbow's price is the lowest at $1.98 per 12-pack of Pepsi but you must buy five and spend $20 or more. Most of the prices are good through Saturday, May 28, but the Lunds/Byerly's sale ends Wednesday May 25.

If you're a Pepsi drinker, stock up until the 4th of July when it will probably go on sale again.

House paint also goes on sale around Memorial Day. Check your favorite brands at your favorite stores, but Sherwin- Williams stores have 30 percent off paints and stains through May 30, Hirshfield's have $4 to $6 off gallons of its store brand, Ralph Lauren, Devoe, and Benjamin Moore.
