Because this is boxing, it ain't over till it's over. And even Bob Arum saying it's "O-V-E-R" doesn't mean it's over
Promoter Arum declared the megafight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. dead Thursday. "It's over," Arum said. "O-V-E-R."
But efforts continued to find a compromise to a dispute over blood testing. Arum had set a Thursday deadline, but the Mayweather camp insisted on using the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to conduct the tests. Pacquiao's people are against that. "They're viewed by the Pacquiao side as being partisan," Arum said, referring to USADA.
Arum said Pacquiao instead would fight March 13 against Paul Malignaggi, a flashy but light-hitting 140-pounder. He said there still was a chance Pacquiao and Mayweather could meet later in the year.
"Can it be revisited in the fall?" Arum asked. "We'll see."

Speedy Peterson, who pumped up the sport of freestyle aerials with the patented quintuple-twisting jump he calls the Hurricane, won the Olympic trials in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and sealed his spot in the Vancouver Olympics come February.
He'll be joined by Lacy Schnoor, who took advantage of falls from America's top two female jumpers, Jana Lindsey and Emily Cook, to secure her first Olympic trip.
