Medical marijuana group is spending $100,000 on TV ads

A new TV ad features a Minneapolis woman suffering from extreme back pain tearfully asking Gov. Tim Pawlenty not to stand in the way of a medical marijuana bill. The Marijuana Policy Project says it's spending more than $100,000 to air statewide the spot with Lynn Rubenstein Nicholson.

A bill that would make Minnesota the 13th state to allow medical use of marijuana is headed for a House vote. The Senate approved legislation last year.

But Pawlenty said Monday that he continues to oppose legalization and would veto the bill if it doesn't have provisions palatable to law enforcement.
