McNabb watch continues; Ponder stays positive

The veteran quarterback hasn't been traded to the Vikings -- yet.

Does this have a familiar feeling?

Training camp is nearing and the Vikings are waiting for a veteran quarterback to decide if he wants to play for them. HERE WE GO AGAIN.

This time instead of waiting to see if Brett Favre wants to play another season, the Vikings are waiting to find out if Donovan McNabb will play for much less money than he was making in Washington and likely settle for a one-year contract.

Nothing is official yet, but hopefully we'll have a resolution today. If nothing else, the Vikings need to find out because they don't have time to wait for McNabb. He needs to make a decision either way and if he decides he doesn't want to play for less the Vikings are going to need to turn to what would appear to be option C in their pursuit of a quarterback. (Tyler Thigpen signed in Buffalo and appeared to be near the top of their wish list.)

Meanwhile, Christian Ponder took to his Twitter account to express his support for the Vikings possibly getting Ponder. "Excited to have McNabb join," Ponder wrote. "Will learn a lot from a Pro Bowler. But that doesn't mean I'm not still fighting to start Week 1!"
