MCCAIN SWEEPS U.S. TERRITORIES
Republican Party members in Puerto Rico awarded all 20 delegates at stake Sunday to John McCain, who has vowed to help resolve Washington's complicated relationship with the territory.
McCain swept all 38 GOP delegates awarded in U.S. territories over the weekend, taking all nine delegates Saturday in American Samoa and nine from the Northern Mariana Islands.
HUCKABEE ON 'SNL'
Even though Mike Huckabee is still battling for the Republican presidential nomination despite long odds, he said Saturday he won't "overstay his welcome." Then he did precisely that, lingering on the "Weekend Update" set of "Saturday Night Live" despite several cues to leave the stage.
In the segment, he described his confusion over whether it is mathematically impossible for him to win the nomination over front-runner John McCain. After anchorman Seth Meyers explained the numbers, Huckabee responded: "I'm not a math guy, I'm more of a miracle guy."
NAFTA DISPUTE
Barack Obama accused Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton of trying to walk away from a long record of support for NAFTA, the free trade agreement that he said has cost 50,000 jobs in Ohio, site of next week's primary.
Clinton spokesman Phil Singer disputed that, saying she was critical of NAFTA long before she ran for president. He cited remarks from March 2000 in which she called it a "flawed" agreement. Singer also said that in 2004 in Illinois, Obama spoke positively of NAFTA, saying the U.S. had "benefited enormously" from it.
