Presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain is coming to western Wisconsin this week for a town hall meeting that will emphasize women and their impact on the economy.

The Arizona senator will be in Hudson on Friday at J & L Steel Erectors, 2365 Willis Miller Dr. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. and close one hour later. McCain will speak soon after.

The Hudson stop wraps up McCain's "Jobs First" tour, which started today in Colorado.

J & L Steel Erectors is headed by LouAnne Reger, the founder and two-time president of the Association of Woman Contractors. The Minnesota organization plans to go national within the next year, Reger said.

Reger said her building, which opened just a month ago, can accommodate up to 500 spectators for McCain's visit.

Reger said she has not been politically active until this opportunity. She said her building was chosen after site-scouting campaign staffers heard about it while visiting a nearby deli.

J & L also has been busy working on the new 35W Bridge project in Minneapolis, supplying all of its reinforcing steel. That contract is worth $12 million to J & L.

Those who wish to attend are being asked to RSVP online at www.johnmccain.com/ste, then click on the Hudson link on the right side of the page. Also, Reger said, jlsteelinc.com will soon have information on McCain's visit, including directions.
