Physician Maureen Reed, hoping to challenge Republican incumbent Michele Bachmann in next year's U.S. House race, was on Capitol Hill today meeting members of Congress, the media, and media consultants. There was no fundraiser, according to traveling consultant Leslie Sandberg.
"It's a good idea when you're running for federal office to walk the halls, say hello, and introduce yourself," Sandberg said.
It's Reed's second foray into Washington since she started her campaign in May. At the moment, she's vying with State Sen. Tarryl Clark for the DFL party's backing to take on Bachmann, whose high-profile conservative pronouncements have made her a top Democratic target nationally.
