Mauer and Hardy show progress but still not in the lineup

Twins set to open a four-game set with the Orioles

Joe Mauer tested his bruised left heel with some early batting practice and hit a few balls into the seats, but he said he's not sure when he'll be back in the lineup. It was another step forward, at least.

J.J. Hardy said his strained left wrist feels much improved today, but he also is not in the lineup, with the Twins set to open a four-game series with the struggling Orioles.
