Mattie's Lanes, Sports Bar & Grille will be replacing the former Burnsville Bowl, which has been sitting vacant since July.

Last week, the Burnsville City Council approved a liquor license for Ross Hospitality Services of Burnsville Inc., doing business as Mattie's.

The bowling alley at 1200 E. Hwy. 13 is set to open in December.

Mattie's already has a location on N. Concord Street in South St. Paul.

Since the Burnsville Bowl closed, several ideas for the location have been floating around. There were talks at one time of the 4.47-acre property becoming a church, school, funeral home or a reception hall.
