Matthews to play for Blazers tonight vs. Wolves

Portland shooting guard ready to play after missing a game because of sprained ankle

February 5, 2013 at 12:47AM

Bad news for the Wolves tonight at Target Center.

Portland guard Wes Matthews warmed up before tonight's game and considered his sprained ankle good enough to go.

He made five threes and scored a season-high 30 points when these two teams played in Portland in November, then made five more and scored 26 when the Blazers won here in January.

He and rookie backcourt mate Damian Lillard have just clobbered the Wolves with their outside shooting so far this season.

"It's hard to figure out, but both games they've just shot the lights out," Wolves coach Rick Adelman said.
