The Vikings did get some key players back on Monday.
Left tackle Matt Kalil (leg) and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (hamstring) returned to practice after being held out prior to the Aug. 28 preseason game against San Diego. Both resumed their spots during the portion of practice open to media.
Running back Jerick McKinnon (undisclosed) also returned to practice after he was held out last week.
Quarterback Shaun Hill was the lead quarterback in the passers’ position drills with newly-acquired Sam Bradford in tow. The Vikings traded with Philadelphia for Bradford on Saturday, with Monday marking just his second practice in Minnesota.
Starting split end Charles Johnson (undisclosed) was still sidelined as he watched teammates run through drills Monday. So were tight end MyCole Pruitt (knee), tackle Jeremiah Sirles and center Nick Easton.
The Vikings open the regular season Sunday against the Titans in Tennessee.
