Matson signs tryout deal with Chicago Wolves of AHL

Gophers captain Taylor Matson is going to keep playing hockey.

Senior forward Taylor Matson of the Gophers has signed an amateur tryout contract with the Chicago Wolves, the AHL team announced on Saturday.

Matson, the Gophers team captain, had eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points this past season. He usually was the center on the Gophers' third line. He is from Mound and played for Holy Angels in high school.
