SYDNEY — Marcos Ambrose will return to V8 Supercars racing for the first time in nearly a decade when he competes in the season-ending Sydney 500 on Sunday.
Ambrose will race in the series for the first time since 2005 as a wild-card entry for Dick Johnson Racing.
The two-time V8 champion has spent the past nine years racing in NASCAR, but has returned to Australia to lead the DJR Team Penske's racing team next year.
Ambrose says Thursday that "we've got to keep expectations in check, but I don't have anything to prove to anybody ... for us, it's all about getting ready for 2015."
