Authorities have identified the woman killed in a crash Monday night on eastbound Interstate 694 in Brooklyn Center as JoAnn Rogers.

Rogers, 62, of Maple Grove, was driving around traffic on the right shoulder near Shingle Creek Pkwy. around 7:50 p.m. when she attempted to enter the traffic lanes and rear-ended a semitrailer truck that was stopped in traffic, the State Patrol said.

Rogers died later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

The truck driver, Kenneth Spaid, 56, of Nisswa, Minn., was not injured.

The patrol shut down the freeway for about 3 hours.
