Commuters on Maple Grove Transit Route 785 will be able to park in the lots at the Parkway Transit Station starting Wednesday.

The surface lot at just off Interstate 94 on Maple Grove Pkwy. has been closed since late summer to allow for construction of a ramp to serve the increasing ridership. Bus riders have been parking in a temporary lot across the street at Slumberland.

About 400 parking stalls will be available to commuters starting with the rush hour trips into downtown Minneapolis Wednesday. The bus stop at the temporary lot will be eliminated follow the last drop off on Tuesday evening, transit officials said.

While the Parkway Station will be fully open with all services available, the new ramp will not be open. It will be blocked off until construction is complete some time in mid-January.

Riders will notice that some stalls in the surface lot will be blocked off each day as work continues, transit officials said.

When the new ramp opens, Parkway will have an additional 300 parking spots to go along with the 400 spaces in the surface lot.
