A man was fatally shot in St. Paul, leaving police to piece together what led to the killing.
About 9:15 p.m. Thursday, officers were sent to the 900 block of Edgerton Street after reports of gunfire and arrived to find a man with a gunshot wound to his upper torso, police said.
Fire Department medics took him to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he soon was declared dead, according to police.
No arrests have been announced.
“Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” read a police statement issued Friday morning.
There have been 13 homicides in St. Paul this year, according to a Minnesota Star Tribune database. That compares with 31 at this time last year.
