An unidentified man jumped from the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis about 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Two witnesses called 911 after seeing the man jump, said Minneapolis police spokesman Scott Seroka.

"He drifted for a short time and was able to swim to shore on his own," said Seroka. "He was helped by officers and was later taken to HCMC."

No further information was available about whether the man was admitted or whether the fall was deliberate or an accident, said Jennifer Johnson, public information officer for the Hennepin County Sheriff's department. He appeared not to be seriously injured and was able to walk upright after the incident.
