Authorities have identified a man who was killed Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle in St. Cloud, Minn.

The State Patrol said Michael McCoy, 23, of Waite Park, was lying in the left lane of Roosevelt Road just south of 22nd Street when he was hit at 12:09 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle, a 62-year-old man from Monticello, and a passenger, a 56-year-old woman from Buffalo, were not hurt, the patrol said.

Authorities performed CPR and other life-saving measures, but McCoy was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

It was unclear why the man was lying in the road, but police said alcohol might have played a role in the accident.
