A man was hit and killed by a snowplow in a parking lot at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Tuesday night.

The 48-year-old victim was hit at about 6:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the LSG Sky Chefs facility, a catering business just south of Terminal 2, airport spokesman Jeff Lea said.

The victim’s name has not been released.

The plow was driven by a 25-year-old who was privately contracted by the catering business for snow removal, Lea said.

No arrests have been announced, and impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Airport police and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating.
