Man's 'suspicious death' reported in Cedar-Riverside neighborhood

May 1, 2014 at 6:41AM

A man was found dead early Wednesday outside an apartment complex in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood, and Minneapolis police say they are dealing with a "suspicious" death.

Police were called about 2:45 a.m. to the 1600 block of S. 6th Street regarding "a man down," police said in a statement.

The 26-year-old man was on the grass outside the Cedar High Apartments and was dead by the time officers arrived, police spokesman John Elder said.

"At this time, the death is suspicious and the Police Department is investigating," the police statement read.

The man's identity and the cause and manner of his death have yet to be released.

Anyone with any information about the case is urged to call police at 612-692-8477.
