Man pleads guilty in Arizona slayings PHOENIX - One of two suspects charged in a series of random shootings that killed seven people in the Phoenix area pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree murder. Samuel Dieteman, who grew up in St. Peter, Minn., also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.
Authorities say Dieteman and former roommate Dale Hausner randomly shot and killed seven people, injured 17 more and killed several animals. Hausner still faces seven murder counts. Dieteman and Hausner had been arrested in 2006.
From 1992 to 1999, Dieteman had 37 run-ins with police in Minnesota, ranging from traffic and theft citations to an arrest for misdemeanor domestic assault, the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office said. He was convicted of trespassing in Waseca County in 1994 and of driving while impaired in Blue Earth County in 1998.
