A Blaine woman driving west in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 694 was killed Thursday evening after crashing into a minivan and a guard rail, the State Patrol said.
The crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. near Labore Road. Officers shut down the eastbound lanes and diverted traffic to Interstate 35E during their investigation.
The 46-year-old driver who died was in a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander that was traveling west in an eastbound lane when it struck a Chrysler minivan, then hit the wooden guard rail just west of Labore Road, the patrol said. She was dead at the scene. Her name was to be released Friday.
The driver of the minivan, a 44-year-old woman from Maplewood, was unhurt.
