A man in custody at the Hennepin County jail later died at a local hospital last weekend.
Gerald A. Ryan, 48, of Minneapolis, was booked into the jail late Friday on suspicion of fleeing a police officer. He was also being held for warrants for driving while under a controlled substance.
He died at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The manner and cause of his death are pending additional investigation and toxicology testing, according to a news release from the Hennepin County medical examiner.
Spokespersons for the county and the jail declined to comment beyond the news release from the medical examiner's office.
