A man was shot Thursday evening in the 2500 block of Cedar Avenue S. in Minneapolis and is in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center, police said.
Minneapolis police officers were working with U.S. marshals near the Little Earth housing project to arrest a different suspect when they heard shots fired. They found the victim, who had been shot several times in the groin and stomach area, said Sgt. Catherine Michal.
Officers saw a man dressed in a black polo shirt and gray shorts running from the area. Officers were in the area Thursday evening looking for the suspect. The person being sought by the U.S. marshals was not apprehended.
