A 47-year-old man has been indicted in the robbery of more than $1,000 from a Lakeville bank, a heist that ended with an arrest along an interstate shoulder.

Gregg A. Pickar was charged Tuesday in Minneapolis in the March 20 robbery of the Citizens Bank on Kenrick Avenue.

According to federal court documents:

Pickar told a teller that he "wanted to make a large withdrawal." He suggested that he had a weapon by thrusting his right hand while it was in his jacket pocket onto the counter. He grabbed the cash, $1,070, and fled.

A witness wrote down the license plate number of the pickup truck that Pickar fled in, and police were soon able to pull him over on the shoulder of Interstate Hwy. 35W and make the arrest.

The bank's money was recovered.

The U.S. attorney's office did not have a permanent address for Pickar, but he has lived recently in Wadena, Minn.
