A man found shot to death in his car late Wednesday in downtown Minneapolis has been identified as Abdirahman H. Haji-Ahmed, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.

Haji-Ahmed, 26, died of multiple gunshot wounds in the 200 block of 12th Avenue S. just before midnight Wednesday.

Officers responding to a 911 call found him dead. Police said they had no information about a possible suspect.

The victim had recently posted photos of himself holding a large wad of cash on his Facebook page.

Haji-Ahmed's death is not believed to be linked to a series of shootings of young Somali men in the metro area this year, said Abdirizak Bihi, a well-known Somali community member. He said he spoke to friends of Haji-Ahmed's on Thursday and they didn't believe that he was affiliated with the Somali gangs that have been blamed for the killings.

Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call the tip line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
