A man was found dead early Wednesday in a South St. Paul residence, and police say they are looking for multiple people seen fleeing from the scene.

Officers who were notified about 3:15 a.m. of a disturbance in the 400 block of Camber Avenue arrived and found the man "with traumatic injuries," read a statement from Police Chief William Messerich. That block runs parallel to Concord Street.

The chief is withholding information about how the man was killed and any circumstances surrounding his death.

However, law enforcement emergency dispatch audio disclosed that the man was stabbed after being chased around a building and that three suspects are being sought.

Officers from Inver Grove Heights and Eagan are assisting South St. Paul police with the search for the suspects and collecting evidence at the scene, Messerich said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the South St. Paul Police Department at 651-554-3300.
