A man was found stabbed to death early Sunday in north Minneapolis after police responded to a disturbance call.

Officers learned a man had been stabbed while they were on the way to a house in the 2900 block of Russell Avenue N. about 3:25 a.m. They found one unresponsive man when they arrived, and he was later declared dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.

Another man was taken to a hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries. Other witnesses were questioned.

Police said there wasn't a risk to public safety.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's officer will release the victim's name and cause of death after completing an investigation. This is the city's first homicide of 2013.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Minneapolis homicide investigators at 612-692-8477.
