Man fatally stabbed in apparent fight in south Minneapolis

A 28-year-old man died Thursday morning after he was stabbed multiple times, according to police, who found him outside an apartment building in south Minneapolis.

A suspect later was arrested nearby.

Minneapolis police arrived at the building on the 3000 block of Clinton Avenue S. after 11 p.m. Wednesday and found the man on the front steps. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died. The victim's identity will be released later by the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

Police arrested a 19-year-old man without incident after canvassing the neighborhood. Homicide investigators are asking witnesses or anyone from the community with information to please contact the police.
