Minneapolis police are searching for the suspect who fatally shot a man on the city's North Side on Tuesday night.

A ShotSpotter activation at about 8:20 a.m. alerted police to a shooting in the area of the 3600 block of N. 4th Street. Officers responded and found a man in an alley with gunshot wounds, said Garrett Parten, a police department spokesman.

Police administered aid to the victim until paramedics arrived. The man, believed to be in his 20s, died at the scene, Parten said.

No arrests had been made.

Police released few other details in connection with the city's ninth homicide of the year.
