Man fatally shot, juvenile in custody in Pine County

Information provided by witnesses led officers to arrest the young suspect in neighboring Kanabec County.

A juvenile male was jailed Saturday after a man was shot to death early Friday evening in Pine County.

Police were called to the Pine Terrace Trailer Park at 4:55 p.m. Friday, where they found the victim, a man in his 20s, lying on the ground and bleeding from several gunshot wounds, according to the Sheriff's Office. First responders performed CPR, but the man died at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released pending notification of his family.

Using information provided by witnesses, officers later arrested the young suspect in neighboring Kanabec County. He was in the Kanabec County jail Saturday pending charges.

The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called in to help process the crime scene.

The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy.
