One man died in a fire late Wednesday in a Minneapolis duplex, while three other residents were able to escape without injury.
Firefighters were called at 11:20 p.m. to the home in the 900 block of 22nd Avenue NE., where they encountered “heavy fire” coming from the first and second floors of the residence, said Minneapolis Assistant Fire Chief Melanie Rucker.
Upon making entry, crews found the victim dead on the first floor, Rucker said.
The name of the victim has not been released.
Three other men in the residence were uninjured, Rucker said. The Red Cross was called to assist them.
The death marks the third fire fatality of the year, Rucker said.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
