Man dies in Meeker County shooting

Police who responded found a man outside of the home with a gunshot wound and he died at the scene.

An investigation is underway after a man was found shot to death in Meeker County on Friday night.

Police responded to a reported shooting in the 26100 block of 545th Avenue, near Grove City, about 10:45 p.m. and found a man outside the home with a gunshot wound, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office. He died at the scene.

The victim's name has not been released pending an autopsy and notification of his family members.

Nobody has been arrested in the case. Investigators said they did not believe the act was random and have no information to indicate an ongoing threat to the public.
