Man critically injured in north Mpls. shooting

A man shot multiple times Sunday in north Minneapolis remained in critical condition Sunday night.

Officers were called to 3500 Penn Avenue N. at about 4:30 p.m. and found two men unresponsive in a car. One man was shot multiple times, at least once in the head, and rushed into surgery at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. A second shooting victim sustained injuries that weren't life threatening and was also hospitalized at North Memorial, according to Corey Schmidt, spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department.

The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
