An 18-year-old Robbinsdale man was charged Monday with shooting and killing another man in a botched drug deal in Minneapolis, according to the Hennepin County attorney's office.

Eugene Watkins was charged with intentional second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Jason Adams, who was killed Thursday inside his apartment at 2101 3rd Av. S.

Also charged was Trevone Seantez Little, 21, who was accused of aiding an offender after the fact by driving Watkins from the shooting scene.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the apartment building around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and found Adams bleeding. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he died.

Witnesses told police that three men came to Adams' apartment to buy marijuana from him, but that once they were inside the apartment, Watkins pulled a gun and told Adams to give him the drugs. The two men exchanged gunfire. The three men then fled, and Little drove Watkins to the hospital for treatment for a bullet wound. Watkins is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
